More Arnold

Spent today between the Attick and the office developing the Arnold Binns project. Good to have space to walk around while constructing a script.

Nice to see a few folk around today. Talk of a pre christmas open house/showing of work for the Parlour which sounds good.

Here's a picture of a weird kind of rollerskate

Arnold Binns

I've spent much of today researching Arnold Binns, the endurance rollerskater from the 1930's purported to have skated from John O'Groats to Lands End. Emma and I decorated our room here the other week so it's a far nicer place to work now and the Blackboard Door works a treat for sketching out ideas on a large scale. The Occupy Bristol site accross the road is growing and looking more interesting each day. Here is a picture of Arnold.

Following the White Rabbit (Annelies Puddy)

Currently my focus is on the design and construction of masks for Jessie Percival's new project 'Following the White Rabbit'.

Here is an image of the prototype masks in use at The Harborside Festival. I am working on a developed design that will be ready at the end of the month.

Returned from Glastonbury alive... just

Hello I'm Emma Callander, a new comer to this lovely creative haven The Parlour.

I've just returned home to Bristol after co-directing Arcadia's 2011 Glastonbury spectacular. It was the most beautifully epic experience. I'd encourage you all to take on the challenge of devising, building and rehearsing an ambitious circus show in a field of mud in the rain in 11 days, it can only make you stronger!

Thank you to each and every incredible person that helped make it happen.

Here's a short film edit of the show (mixed in with an Orbital gig on the Arcadia stage)

And links to the images and info on Arcadia

Straight into directing the next Prince's Trust show with Travelling Light on Monday morning so I'll let you all know more of that as it unfolds...

Howl's Moving Castle

Last Night we found out that our show for the Southwark Playhouse in London this Christmas has been signed off!!!

We will create and direct the show but we have a really nice line up including Andy Serkis as consulting director, Fyfe Dangerfield as composer and the BBC for R&D.

We have now installed ourselves in the attic room to experiment with the set and the projections for the show.
